EDGE, an advanced technology group in the defense and other fields, announced that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the UAE Ministry of Education (MoE) to explore cooperation and expand training and sponsorship opportunities to the next generation of top STEM talents.
According to the agreement, EDGE will implement training programs for outstanding higher education students in advanced technology fields, and provide internship opportunities for the most talented schools and college students to increase their interest and skills in STEM subjects.
His Excellency Faisal Al Bannai, CEO and Managing Director of EDGE, and His Excellency Dr. Mohamed Ebrahim Al Mualla, Deputy Minister of Academic Affairs, Ministry of Education of the UAE, signed the agreement in the presence of senior representatives of the two entities.
His Excellency Dr. Mohamed Ebrahim Al Mualla said: “The Memorandum of Understanding is a framework to support the next generation of STEM talents. As part of the Ministry of Education’s plans and initiatives, it will also help develop and implement artificial intelligence, cyberspace, national defense and electronic warfare, and digital future security. And innovative theory, practice, and vocational training programs in areas such as defense services.”

EDGE Group will also consider funding students with innovative ideas and outstanding research or entrepreneurial projects under the funding plan of the Ministry of Education. Sponsorship can include financial incentives, training or employment, or the development of a student project into a viable entrepreneurial project or any other sponsored support agreed by the two entities.
In addition, EDGE and the UAE Ministry of Education are also responsible for cooperating to organize initiatives and programs aimed at honing the abilities of outstanding students in the STEM field, including conferences, training seminars and competitions, and industry-themed visits.
