Elbit Systems will debut the SkylarkTM 3 Hybrid Small Tactical Unmanned Aerial System (STUAS) at the 2022 Singapore Airshow (Booth C-N65 in the Israel Pavilion).
Equipped with a hybrid propulsion system, including electric and internal combustion engines, the Skylark3 Hybrid triples its range and delivers up to 18 hours of runtime with no change in size or weight, significantly improving mission and cost efficiency.
The Skylark3 Hybrid uses its internal combustion engine to quickly fly to an area of interest (AOI) and switches to the electric motor when operating above the AOI. The twin-engine architecture of the new Skylark enables one to support the other, providing increased reliability and safety. The significantly higher stamina of the Skylark 3 Hybrid provides troops with greater ability to hover over the AOI and requires fewer platforms to perform the same mission.
The Skylark 3 Hybrid is based on the Skylark STUAS series that has been ordered in 27 countries to date. The Skylark 3 Hybrid has a wingspan of 4.7m, a maximum take-off weight of 50kg, a service ceiling of 12,000ft and a range of 120km. It features dual payload capability and a “plug and play” interface for quick sensor replacement in the field.
The Skylark 3 Hybrid is capable of integrating a range of payloads, including high-resolution electro-optical gimbal payloads, ELINT, COMINT, laser pointers, and more. Deployed and operated by a crew of two, it is fired from a pneumatic launcher and can be mounted on a vehicle or boat. Two Skylark 3 Hybrid STUAS can be assigned to the same mission managed simultaneously by a shared ground control station.
