job description: The Assistant Director of Environmental Science and Policy MPA is looking for an intern to support the graduate program. Among other assignments, interns will provide classroom support to ESP teachers. Interns will also draft content for the program’s website and recruiting materials, prepare for summer training and information sessions, and help facilitate the logistics of the program’s workshop sessions. Interns will also assist with staffing and coordination of events and meetings. Finally, interns will support program faculty and program staff as needed.
Require: Applicants must be full-time students at Columbia University and be able to work on campus. Preference will be given to students with a background or interest in environmental and sustainability issues.
Required skills: This position requires excellent organizational, interpersonal, written and oral communication skills. Candidates must be able to work well under pressure, coordinate different responsibilities and exercise independent judgment. Candidates must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Zoom. Administrative experience is preferred. Candidates should be proactive and detail-oriented. A strong interest in the environment and sustainability is preferred, but not required. This is a social post with regular interaction with ESP courses to help expand your Columbia network.
Pay and time: $18/hour; candidates should be able to work 35 hours per week, begin work as soon as possible, and potentially continue working through the fall semester.
