I like Christmas crafts, and my favorite is this super simple fabric Christmas tree. Not only is it a fast crafting process, but it is also a great way to recycle materials or use up any remaining fabric stashes you may have.
what do you need
- 2 x fat quarter
- Sewing machine (although not required)
- Tree template (you can download mine for free)
- Scissors
- filling
Cut your fat in half so that you have four pieces of ingredients. Fold each part in half in width and use the folded edge as a reference to track on the tree template pattern.

After drawing the template on all parts, carefully cut them off with fabric scissors. Place two pieces, facing each other, so you have two independent trees.
Starting from the bottom of the tree, mark the center, and then make a mark two inches from both sides of the center mark (this will be the opening of the filler). Starting from any of these marks, sew a seam around the tree, leaving 1 cm as a seam allowance.
After stitching the tree, cut any excess fabric from around the inward point of the tree.
Then cut the triangle into the structure of the outer points of the tree. This makes it easier to get a sharp point when you turn it to the right.
Turn the two trees out from the right. Take a moment to make sure that the dots are sharp and fully folded.
Place your two trees on top of each other and carefully stitch them together from the center.
Once you tie the seams, you can start filling your tree. Use a small amount of filler at a time to make sure it fills the corners.
When you are happy that the tree is filled enough, stitch the bottom together by hand. This tree will sit on this seam, so don’t worry it will be very beautiful.
