Frank Irigon Receives University of Washington’s 2022 Odegaard Award

Community member Frank Irigon is the recipient of the 2022 University of Washington Charles E. Odegaard Award.

Irigon will be honored at the 2022 Celebration event on May 18.

Irigon was born in the Philippines and immigrated to the United States with his mother and siblings in 1950. He holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Social Work from the University of Washington (UW). While at UW, he was involved in the peace and social justice movement and was particularly active in the UW Asian Student Union.

He is also the co-founder and past executive director of the International District Community Health Center.

Today, Irigon serves on the boards of Puget Sound Advocates for Retirement Action, OCA Asian Pacific American Advocates – Greater Seattle Chapter, and the Asian Pacific American Civic Engagement Council.

The Odegaard Award is considered the highest achievement in diversity at the University of Wisconsin.
