Graphic Designer

Former Interns, Batch 2021

I’ve been looking for some agencies that have internship openings because I want to gain experience as a graphic designer. Mainly: I want to make sure this is the career path I really want to pursue. Compared to other institutions that offer internships, Brevo stands out to me because it has something that others don’t: it looks fun. Where anywhere else would feel like a tedious job and mundane activity, Brevo designed their internship as a creative bootcamp. With this, I decided to give it a go and join Brevo.

Even though I’m only an intern, I like the way I’m treated like a colleague. I wasn’t excluded from company meetings or brainstorming sessions – in fact I was even forced to present and contribute my ideas. I feel very welcome and it makes me want to work with Brevo even more.

Initially, I was a little overwhelmed with managing my time and my internship assignments. When I design a piece, I usually criticize myself a lot, which makes it take me longer to complete my task. Working with Brevo has taught me that there must be a balance between quality and time. As much as I would love to take the time to make a poster look “perfect”, I have to remember that I’m working with other people who will also be affected by the time I send my work. It taught me not to be a perfectionist by considering other people’s time.

In early November, a month after I graduated, I was looking for a job as a graphic designer, but I didn’t know where to start. After my internship, I decided to work with Brevo again. I already knew I liked these people and their workflow, so I thought it would be ideal to work with them. Thankfully, Aaron from Client Services contacted me and asked if I would be interested in becoming a full-time graphic designer. I happily accepted the offer.

I enjoy designing even more now than I did when I was an intern because I know what I do has more weight. As a full-time graphic designer, I realized I was no longer an intern looking for experience. I love that what I do helps Brevo and our customers grow more as a company.

In less than a year of internship, Brevo has changed a lot. In fact, some of my colleagues got promoted! It’s exciting to know that I work for a company that is constantly changing and growing.
