On Wednesday, the grandmother and granddaughter who worked together at a car seat factory near Frankfurt, Indiana, were shot dead while they were at work.
Clinton County Sheriff Rich Kelly said that at about 4:15 pm local time, 62-year-old Pamela Sledd and her 21-year-old granddaughter Promise Mays were shot dead after arriving in the NHK factory parking lot during their shift. There is no other harm.
The suspected murderer, identified as 26-year-old Gary C. Ferrell II, was later arrested and detained after a brief high-speed car chase. Farrell also worked at the factory, but the motive for the shooting was not clear.
Kelly said at the press conference: “The two people who lost their lives today are the grandmother and granddaughter who went to work together and started shifts.” “At this time I can’t say they are random. [killed] Or if they are the target. “
“They work together, and we don’t know the catalyst that made this happen,” he added. “We will investigate it, and we will find out, that’s for sure.”
Immediately after the fatal shooting, the emergency dispatcher received about nine different 911 calls. At least some of the callers were factory workers who identified Ferrer as the so-called gunman. Both Sledd and Mays died at the scene of the shooting.

A nearby police officer responded and determined Ferrer’s blue Ford Within a few minutes. Ferrer tried to escape the area at high speed, but was quickly stopped after driving into the construction area.

The shooting occurred a few months after the first opening of a factory about 50 miles from Indianapolis. The NHK US seat said that it will continue to shut down production on Thursday. When the factory reopens on Friday, consulting services will be provided to employees, and more details are expected to be announced later.
