The world’s top players will prove that they are the best in their respective events at the 2021 Summer Olympics. Approximately 11,000 athletes will be held in Tokyo, and the Olympic Games will be held for 19 consecutive days.
The opening ceremony will be held in Tokyo on Friday night, but it actually started a few days in advance. The schedule for Wednesday and Thursday is softball and football, so the game will be kicked off by female players.
All 12 women’s football teams start their group matches on Wednesday, with England and Chile starting at 4:30 pm local time. The U.S. women’s football team will play their first match against Sweden at 5 pm local time (4 am Eastern time). Sweden defeated the United States at the 2016 Olympics, ending the fourth consecutive gold medal race for the U.S. team.
The men’s football group match starts on Thursday and has eight matches. The women’s gold medal match is scheduled to be held at the Olympic Stadium on Friday, August 6. The next night, the Yokohama International Stadium will host a men’s gold medal match.

The softball gold medal match is scheduled for Tuesday, July 27th. The baseball gold medal match is scheduled for Saturday, August 7.
The US team will continue to maintain its dominance in the basketball world a few days after the opening ceremony. With the start of the group stage, the American men’s team will face the French team on Sunday night. The U.S. women’s team will play the first group match against Nigeria on Tuesday, July 27.
The American men are expected to participate in the gold medal match on Saturday, August 7. The same goes for the women’s basketball team on Sunday, August 8. Although American men are seeking to win gold medals for the fourth time in a row, 29 years have passed because American women have been prevented from winning Olympic gold medals.

Even if the basketball team succeeds, Tokyo’s greatest American Olympian may be a gymnast. Simone Biles won four gold medals in 2016, and she started seeking more gold medals in the women’s rhythmic gymnastics team qualifying competition on Sunday. The women’s team final will be on Tuesday, July 27, two nights later.

The men’s golf individual stroke play gold medalist will be determined on Sunday, August 1, while the women’s gold medal will be determined six days later. From July 25th to August 1st, there will be swimming medal events every day.
The closing ceremony was Sunday, August 8.
