St Martin’s Residence Application Documents:

A copy of your current passport.

  1. All passport pages must be photocopied.
  2. A full-color copy of the information page is required.
  3. On copies, cropping is not allowed.
  4. If possible, the copy should already be scaled.
  5. Passports must be valid for at least six months from the date of application.

  1. The document must be legalized by the Dutch embassy or bear the Hague-authenticated stamp of the country of origin.
  2. The validity of this document shall not exceed three years.
  3. If the document is published in a language other than English or Dutch, a certified translation of the document is required. This translation must also be legalized.

  1. This document cannot be older than six months.
  2. While certification from a Dutch embassy or Hague certification from the issuing country is not required, we recommend obtaining it if possible.

Original marriage certificate

Original divorce decree

If widowed, a copy of the original spouse’s death certificate

  1. The document must be legalized by the Dutch embassy or bear the Hague-authenticated stamp of the issuing country.

Additional requirements for living in St. Martin

If you apply for your spouse

Articles 1 to 3 apply to spouses.
The petition applicant may also be required to provide evidence of sufficient income to support the petition and act as a surety.

If you are applying on behalf of your minor child

Articles 1-2 apply to children.
Proof of registration at St. Martin’s School is required. This applies to all children over the age of four.

If one of the parents of the minor child is still abroad, an original notarized consent letter from that parent along with a valid passport identification is required.

Proof of sufficient income

Foreign Financial Institution Letter to St. Maarten Immigration and Border Protection Services stating Financial Status (Assets, Liabilities, Equity) – Amount must be clearly stated in US dollars or currency equivalent.
