Link building is time-consuming. Ensuring only 10-20 links per month can be numbing.
By aligning resources, PureLinq created a link building program that delivers up to 90% email outreach response rates without the use of overseas VAs or email automation.
On January 19th, I hosted a webinar hosted by PureLinq CEO Kevin Rowe.
Rowe shows a proven way to unlock your link building potential.
Here’s a quick recap of the webinar. For more details, please fill out the form to access the entire webinar.
What has traditionally played a role in link building?
Before we dive into how we built our 600+ links, let’s get to the leveling.
By understanding how traditionally works, you can easily see how to speed up the process and maximize your time.
Article-Based Linking Works
It doesn’t matter if the website is established or new. Local businesses may consider incorporating more local citations, but article-based links will still work.

The traditional way to get 600 links
Traditionally, a formula of 40,000 sites/(11% email open rate + 3% response rate + 9% placement rate) yields 600 links.
Without a good program, you’ll need to build a list of over 40,000 sites. This alone is very time consuming.
You need to create a good link builder to help you prioritize your resources.

Elements of a Good Link Building Program
Creating a good link builder is the key to speeding up your process and making sure every step helps you achieve your goals.
The traditional first step is to address and scale the most challenging but essential parts of link building:
- Checklist construction.
- Find a contact.
- Customize email.
- Content creation.
- Outreach.
- follow up.
- confirm.
Low response rates, tailored content, etc. can take a year to scale.
So how do you do all of this in just one month?
A faster way to link building
You can reduce time by choosing the right method.
Narrow the content
Rowe’s team narrowed down the content, focusing instead on outreach and exploration.
The two best scenarios that work for them are:
- Theme reclamation.
- Unlinked brand mentions.

Build relationships
Rowe’s team achieved a 90% response rate when using predefined relationships.
That 90% response rate means that to get to 600, they only need to send 700 outreach emails instead of the traditional 40,000.
The key to this response rate is the relationship.
Rowe recommends these tools to start building lists and relationships:
- Slag rack.
- Pitch box.
- Buzz stream.
Then, provide what your future partners might need.
What works best for bloggers, influencers, authors, and publishers is for them to crawl and find their broken links for free.
You can use simple SEO tactics they don’t know how to do, like crawling the entire site on 5,000 pages and finding and correcting all the links.
You can also recommend a WordPress plugin.
These free things are great reasons to build relationships.
As a result, you’ll get a high response rate, but don’t ask for anything in return.
Just start building that relationship and maintain that list.
Links will appear naturally.

Easy maintenance process with tools
Consider building your workflows and flowcharts in project tools.
Rowe uses these tools to help him standardize operations for scalability:
- EOS startup operating system
- clear chart
Steps to build a link
