My friend Rob O’Regan is my editor That is. He invited me to a clever video series produced by CIO and Lenovo, late night IT When he told me the show would be hosted by the Emmy nominated host and my good friend, Balatonde Thurston, I jumped in with both feet.
We pay particular attention to the current state and future of artificial intelligence (AI), automation and robotics. i was joined Anima Anand KumarDirector of Machine Learning Research at NVIDIA, and Professor of Computational and Mathematical Sciences at Caltech. Together we explore the impact of AI on society, business and creative output. As a digital anthropologist, I also apply the human lens to conversation.
While this was an in-depth and even technical conversation, it was also fun. Baratunde is a great presenter who makes everything come alive, meaningful and full of laughter. I even bent my robot dance moves!
In Balathonde’s words…
I laughed and tried to convince the machines that their jokes were really funny, and to please myself and their growing power. I’m showing that I’m a “good” person ready to work with our robotic overlord. I think it worked.
I’m in @briansolis and Anima Anandkumar from @Nvidia. In all discussions about “digital transformation”, we often overlook the fact that people are being asked to transform the most. People who have developed skills, habits, and perspectives over the years can suddenly change because of “progress.” We can talk about technology or politics or both. In this episode, we did it.
Please watch and let me know what you think.
