NBA veteran Serge Ibaka did not allow himself to take over when dealing with one of the most difficult challenges of his career.
At present, issues related to the guard have caused Ibaka of the Los Angeles Clippers to miss. The veteran could have chosen to stay and wait for him to get better before leaving, but he decided to withdraw To NBA G League Stay active during the recovery period.
Normally, players who are injured or have any discomfort must recover until they are ready to play again. However, Ibaka does not view his situation that way, because he knows that he has not received special treatment from people like Kawhi Leonard, Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry.
“I think if you sit down, many players can use this example in that situation,” Ibaka told Los Angeles Times. “At least if you are Kawhi [Leonard] Or Kevin Durant or Stephen Curry, those who can sit for three years and they will come back, [teams are] Will give them playing time, they will give them-they will work hard to give them confidence. “
“At least if you are one of those people, you can stay, but if you are not one of those people, one of those names, sometimes you have to work hard for yourself to gain your confidence, because no one will give Yours,” he continued.

Last season, Ibaka played a total of 41 games for the Clippers. His outstanding performance of 11 points, 6.7 rebounds and 1.1 blocks per game was enough to impress head coach Tyronn Lu.
However, Lu said that the 32-year-old decided to let go of himself and play for minors to keep up with the changes in the league. This decision is even more impressive.
“[Ibaka] Said that the game is a bit fast for him now, so he wants to get down [NBA] To develop the league, just play and get representatives, keep him in good physical condition and seize the opportunity,” Lu told Press Telegram.
“When you have someone with 13 years of veterinary experience, that’s a real professional,” the coach exclaimed. “Just want to do his best to come back and help us in any way, so it’s nice to see.”
When the team faces the Dallas Mavericks at home, Ibaka is expected to return to the Clippers lineup this weekend.
