5G speed is now available for AT&T Internet of Things customer.
AT&T and Cisco introduced 5G network functions to improve the performance of US Internet of Things (IoT) applications.
this AT&T 5G network It is now ready to provide lower latency and faster speeds for enterprise customers’ IoT deployments using 5G certified equipment.
AT&T and Cisco Currently, through AT&T’s 4G LTE and low-power IoT cellular network, millions of connected devices are managed on FirstNet®, covering manufacturing, utilities, transportation, public sector, retail and healthcare industries, and public safety.
The AT&T Control Center, backed by Cisco, enables companies to understand all IoT devices on their network in near real-time, and helps reduce security risks, identify anomalies in data usage, and optimize traffic classification reports.
Increasing the capabilities of AT&T’s national sub-6GHz 5G network will enable manufacturing, automotive, and entertainment companies to start taking advantage of the higher bandwidth and lower latency currently available to more than 251 million people across the country. E.g:
- Owners of connected vehicles that support 5G will be able to experience faster downloads, streaming and sharing of music, videos, software updates, navigation and maps during the journey.
- Providers and users of mobile personal emergency response equipment can improve independence and sense of security by providing faster response time through 5G.
- Manufacturers can take advantage of the low latency of 5G and use camera technology to monitor and identify product defects in near real-time on the assembly line to reduce waste.
That is just the beginning.
Add 5G to open the door Large-scale IoT connection This will create opportunities for the transformation of the retail industry, make self-driving cars and smart factories a reality, and revolutionize healthcare.
“5G will enable companies from all walks of life to digitize faster and reshape business models,” Said Masum Mir, Cisco’s vice president and general manager of the Wired, Mobile and Internet of Things Division. “Together with AT&T, we mark a milestone for AT&T control center customers to use the power of 5G to connect industrial and mission-critical equipment to achieve ultimate IoT visibility.”
“Working with Cisco, we will continue to help companies deploy IoT devices and applications faster and more securely, and get more value from the devices they use,” Said William Stovall, AT&T’s Vice President of Mobile, Internet of Things and 5G.
“This is an important first step towards large-scale connectivity for the Internet of Things, and will ultimately create opportunities for enterprises to realize the full potential of the Internet of Things.”
