He added that the total installations of these four companies on their respective platforms in all applications and geographies exceeded 500,000 units, although the share represented by fleet management solutions in the Indian market varies widely. “Tata Motors and Ashok Leyland are leaders in the OEM field”, Mr. Anderson continued. The former has worked with the UK-based Microlise for many years, but the company has now launched an in-house developed next-generation connected car solution. Ashok Leyland has partnered with Trimble, which provides hardware, and has more than 150,000 vehicles on its connected vehicle platform. Trimble is also a leading provider of high-end fleet management solutions in the Indian aftermarket.

The remaining top 10 manufacturers in the Indian market have all reached the 100,000 vehicle milestone, namely Autoplant, Axestrack, Volty and Fleetx. Well-known providers at the top of the ranking include Arya Omnitalk, TrackoBit, Millitrack and Transight. This market is also served by many other companies, such as Matchpoint GPS, Bosch, OneQlik, MapmyIndia, BlackBuck, Protrack GPS, Intellicar, Gurtam, Ranet4u, iTriangle, Nippon, IntelliPlanner, EcoCosmo, CarIQ, Intangles, Asset Telematics and Mireo. “These companies have tens of thousands of installation bases in India”, Mr. Anderson concluded.
