After the platform’s messaging system malfunctioned, Instagram users from all over the world gathered in the early hours of Thursday to complain.
Just before 2:00 AM Eastern Standard Time, the number of Downdetector users rose sharply, reporting that they had problems using the features of the image sharing application.
The user took Twitter Specify that they cannot send direct messages to other users, and it is difficult for other users to upload on the story function of the platform.
The large number of complaints and the follow-up trend of the #instagramdown hashtag caused a lot of jokes and memes because Instagram Users expressed their dissatisfaction.
“It’s not that I worry about Instagram like the thought of the end of the world,” wrote a Twitter user.
“When you realize that it’s not your wifi, it’s Instagram malfunctioning,” another tweeted.
Weekly newspaper An Instagram representative has been contacted for comment.
