Time’s Up co-founder Roberta Kaplan resigned from the organization on Monday after he was strongly opposed to helping New York Governor Andrew Cuomo when he faced sexual harassment charges in 2020 .

“Robbie Kaplan, the co-chair of the board, has resigned from the board. Both we and she agree that this is the right and appropriate approach,” the organization said in a statement.
Time’s Up continues to be a hot topic on Twitter, with people criticizing Kaplan and the organization for putting politics above sexual abuse survivors.
“The time for @kaplanrobbie and @TIMESUPNOW has come to be ashamed of everyone involved-deep down, you should know better. Power, greed, and pride hinder you. Just like the abuser,” A user posts.
Another tweet criticized the organization for not continuing its mission to help survivors.
“(To say the least), it’s disappointing to see an organization (TIME’S UP) that was supposed to stand behind and fight for those who have been harmed by harassment was completely unable to fulfill its promise and ultimately defeated the survivors,” A user posts.
In a statement, Time’s Up admitted to a broken relationship with the survivor who vowed to help.
The organization said: “We have been committed to being responsible for power in boardrooms, government halls, and organizations large and small. We feel we have the ability to do so because many of us have worked in these institutions. “In a statement.
“However, we recognize that this work sometimes leads to a lack of trust in the wider community of survivors we serve, and we belong to this community. We are looking inside.”
Kaplan’s resignation came a day after a senior aide of Cuomo, Melissa De Rosa, resigned From her position. In a statement, De Rosa referred to the past two years as “emotional and spiritual attempts.”
One week after New York State’s Attorney General Leticia James released her investigation report on allegations of sexual harassment in Como, De Rosa resigned.
