The design and improvement process of KAPLAN MT is completed. FNSS successfully applied the technology transfer model with PT Pindad through the KAPLAN medium tank development project. After the prototype test is over, a mass production contract will be signed.
KAPLAN MT, which will be exhibited at IDEF 2021, has successfully completed durability and combustion tests conducted in Turkey and Indonesia during the prototype period. With the joint production contract signed by KAPLAN MT at IDEF in 2019, the FNSS factory began the mass production process. According to the contract, 18 KAPLAN MT tanks will be produced; the first 10 vehicles will be produced at the FNSS plant in Turkey, and the remaining 8 vehicles will be produced in Indonesia.
The KAPLAN MT project is Turkey’s first medium-sized tank export contract, and it is also the first project initiated and completed within the framework of the defense industry cooperation agreement signed between Indonesia and Turkey.
After the FNSS facility decided on the final design for mass production, production began with the participation of PT Pindad engineers and end users of the Indonesian army. The delivery of the vehicle will be completed in 2021.
