Ingredients and Substitutes
This section explains how to choose the best ingredients for unsweetened coffee creamer, the role each ingredient plays in the recipe, and substitution options. For measurements, see recipe card below.
- unsweetened condensed milk – You can’t buy it at the store, but it’s easy to make your own with 3 simple ingredients: butter, heavy cream, and Powdered Besti。 It acts as the base of the creamer.
- Unsweetened almond milk – This helps get the keto-friendly coffee creamer to the right consistency. Unsweetened coconut milk drinks are also available as a nut-free option. (Make sure this is the liquid type from the carton, not the thicker type from the can.) Milk is not keto-friendlyso I don’t recommend it.
- heavy cream – This adds a rich creaminess and also helps with consistency so it’s not too thick.
- taste – You don’t think I’ll just leave you with a basic keto coffee creamer, do you? Absolutely, but you can also add flavors like vanilla extract, hazelnut extract, pumpkin puree, and cocoa powder for a flavored unsweetened coffee creamer.you can also let me Sugar Free Peppermint Mocha Creamer during the holidays.
Variations: Make it dairy free and vegan!
To make this keto creamer dairy-free and vegan, use full-fat coconut milk (the kind that comes in a can) in place of the heavy cream, including the cream used in the condensed milk and added later. The butter in the condensed milk can be omitted, or ghee can be substituted if you can stand it.
