After a 17-year-old girl kidnapped from Honduras accused them of forcing her into prostitution, the police are investigating a human trafficking case involving a couple in San Leandro, California.

Aguilar allegedly kidnapped the girl at gunpoint in January and threatened to kill her grandmother, KNTV, if she contacted the authorities. Report.
The girl told the police that Aguilar raped her when they were travelling from Honduras to Guatemala together. He then sold her to someone who sexually assaulted her and smuggled her into the United States. East Bay Times.
The girl arrived in Texas in May and was taken to Aguilar and Wilson in San Leandro. For the next five months, the accused couple locked the girl in a shed in their backyard, and Aguilar “raped her many times.” Wilson was accused of forcing the girl to have sex with her.
During this period, Wilson is said to have also “induced” minors into prostitution. The couple took the victim to San Francisco and forced her to engage in sex work. Allegedly, Aguilar acted as her “security guard.”
Once, the girl disclosed her ordeal with Aguilar’s niece. The niece and her mother took the girl to San Francisco to report the crime.
Aguilar and Wilson were arrested on October 5. The male suspect admitted to sexually assaulting the teenager several times.
“When asked about her relationship with (Doe), Wilson immediately said that she felt (Doe) was’trafficed,'” San Leandro police officer Det. According to the “East Bay Times” report, Joanna Vera wrote in the court report. “In the interview, the SLPD detective did not ask Wilson any questions about human trafficking at this time. As the interview continued, the SLPD detective pressed Wilson to ask Wilson to hire a lawyer.”
“This is an incredibly tragic event, and we hope that the victims find comfort and an end,” Lieutenant Matt Barajas was quoted as saying KPIX-TV.
Both defendants pleaded not guilty to the charges. They are detained in Santa Rita Prison in Dublin, California, without bail.
