Kim Kardashian and Kendall Jenner broke their silence on the tragedy that occurred at Travis Scott’s Astroworld Festival. On Monday, the stars of “Walking with the Kardashian Sisters” acknowledged the tragedy in their Instagram stories and said they were hurt and shocked by the incidents.
“I feel very sad for the lives lost in Astroworld and anyone injured,” Kim wrote“Like all of you, our family is shocked by this tragedy. We let all victims, families and lovers be affected in our prayers for recovery-and we know that fans who care about him very much and really Travis destroyed,” she added. She also posted the same statement in all other social media profiles.
Her mother Kris Jenner and her sister Khloe Kardashian shared her statement on their own social media.
For her part, Kendall, who watched the concert with her pregnant sister Kylie Jenner, said that she still has no idea what happened at the Astroworld festival. “For families who have lost their loved ones, I am really sad, and I pray for all those involved,” she wrote.
She added: “In this incredibly devastating and sensitive time, send my love to all those affected and hope they will be strong.”
King and Kendall’s statement came two days after the tragic incident that caused dozens of concert audiences to be seriously injured and eight people killed.The concert took place at ScottThousands of fans participated in his hometown, and the situation got worse when a large group of people began to push to the front of the stage during Scott’s performance. The sudden surge caused unconscious bodies to be lifted and surfed in the crowd, as other attendees watched other people around them fall and begged the show to stop.
In a statement after the incident, Mayor Sylvester Turner and the city police issued a statement describing the tragedy as “Mass casualties.” They also confirmed that an investigation is ongoing.
Scott wrote in another statement on November 6 that he was “very shocked” by the life lost during the concert.
