Likes and Favorites April 2024

It's been a while since our previous likes and loves. To be honest, these past few months have been a blur! Things are so busy and time flies so fast. But that being said, I do like to take a moment to appreciate the little things we enjoyed or loved last month.
Here’s what we love and love about April…

New cordless vacuum cleaner

We were kindly sent Hoover cordless vacuum cleaner with anti-twist function Tried it, I absolutely loved it! We have it installed upstairs and it is perfect for running over the bedroom carpet.
I love that it's super lightweight and perfect for cleaning stairs.
You can read more in our review.

crochet

It's been a little busy around here lately and it's been hard for me to find time for myself, so I went and bought some yarn. I am currently making a summer wreath. I really miss crocheting and am so excited to get back into it.
I got the idea for the wreath from the Hobbycraft blog, so I was excited to see it when it was finished and hung.

Holy Dessert Bar

Thanks to our lovely team we recently discovered these delicious chocolate bars from Divine fair Trade.
divine uses only 100% fair trade cocoa and sugar, natural flavors and no palm oil or soy. As the world's only fair trade chocolate company co-owned by farmers, every chocolate you buy improves the lives of cocoa farmers and their families.
These Chocolate Dessert Bars It feels like a real indulgence, perfect for cozy evenings in front of the TV. The three flavors I tried were –

  • Bakewell – Cherry Almond Dark Chocolate
  • Cheese Baking – Lemon and White Chocolate Cookies
  • Tiramisa – coffee and biscuits milk chocolate

I think my favorite is the Bakewell Bar. It's so delicious and even more delicious. But it was a tough decision as the other two bars were equally delicious!

Divine chocolate bars are available from Amazon, Divine Chocolate, Ocado and Oxfam. RRP £4.49.

Primark skin care products

Raise your hand if you like Primark. I do enjoy shopping at Primark. One thing I've never really considered buying is Primark skincare. Mainly because I go to the store and buy something with a specific idea in mind, like clothes for my son, or pajamas for myself.
I was recently introduced to PS…Superfood Raspberry Overnight Lip Mask and PS…Papaya Cream to Oil Cleanser.
Wear PS…Superfood Raspberry Overnight Lip Mask to help moisturize and nourish your lips while you sleep. It has a delicious raspberry flavor and will leave you feeling moisturized on your lips when you wake up.

PS…Papaya Balm Oil Removing Cleanser is another fair Trade and vegetarian-friendly products. When mixed with a small amount of water, it turns into oil to deeply cleanse the skin.
I usually use micellar water as part of my cleansing routine, but I have to say, this ointment cleanser is getting to me more and more. It leaves my skin feeling clean and refreshed.

flowers

I've said it here many times before, but I love flowers in our home. Craig often buys a bouquet of flowers and will also buy one when he goes shopping. A beautiful vase of flowers instantly cheers me up!

Good night's sleep

We got a new bed this month, thanks A pleasure to work with Simba. We also have the most comfortable mattresses around, thanks to Activities in partnership with Origin.
Our previous bed was very uncomfortable and I'm glad to see it gone.
Now I can get a good night's sleep, but the problem is, it's hard to drag myself out of bed in the morning! It's so snug.

get some answers

Save the best for last. After my oldest son had been in very poor health over the past 12 months, he was finally diagnosed and started on treatment for Crohn's disease. He was in constant pain and had lost so much weight it was unreal.
Obviously, we hope he doesn't have Crohn's disease, but the diagnosis means we can move forward and help him manage his condition.
For someone who had never really had any hospital intervention, he underwent surgery under general anesthesia and so many blood tests. He took it all in stride and moved on.
The hope is that his new medication will help stabilize his Crohn's disease and put him into remission. We're going to pray that he gets to enjoy his summer vacation without having to worry about those horrible stomach cramps that will cripple him.
I'm very proud of my son.

What was your highlight this month?
