LinkedIn is expanding the audio-only live event, which first rolled out in beta testing in January, to all users who turn on creator mode.
Audio-only live events are LinkedIn’s answer to the success of apps like Clubhouse and features like Twitter Spaces.
They’re always open to all LinkedIn users, and now all users with Creator Mode turned on can host their own audio events.
LinkedIn states in the announcement:
“Audio events are a great way for creators to really connect with their community. When you host and attend audio events on LinkedIn, your profile takes you with you, allowing you to follow and listen with other speakers and attendees and participate in the same audio activities.”
Creator Mode is available to all LinkedIn users who:
- Audience base of over 150 followers and/or connections
- Any type of content recently shared on the platform
- Good reputation and history of adhering to community policies.
In addition to audio events, Creator Mode allows access to live video streaming, newsletter publishing, profile videos, and post analytics.
LinkedIn says 5.5 million users have turned on creator mode since its launch in March 2021, which has resulted in a nearly 30 percent increase in user engagement with content.
