Looking Back at 2024—Slime and Belly Laughter

I’m not going to lie, 2024 is going to be a crazy year! There seems to be something going on all the time.
As it comes to an end I thought it would be nice to look back at the highs and lows.
Here are some of the things that stand out to me in 2024!

Complete my master's degree

Those of you lovely people who visit regularly will know that I have been studying for a Masters at University for the past two years. Well, I completed my last unit in 2024 and will get the results in February 2025.
I must admit this is one of those this The hardest yet rewarding challenge I have ever set for myself.
I learned so much from Victorian children's literature, from analyzing the books to constructing worlds, that it's now become a very favorite subject of mine. It’s a huge roller coaster, but I’m glad I rode it to where I wanted to go.
New things are happening and I’m excited! I'm living proof at 45, two kids later, that it's never too late.

Diagnosis of Jayden's Crohn's Disease

This has to be the most stressful thing in all of 2024.
It's a huge lifestyle change for a young teenager, but I'm very proud of him. I had to watch my son burst into tears, miserable and frustrated because he had been acting out, but he was persevering and doing what the gut team asked him to do.
At one point he couldn't stand the sight of needles, then while he was on immunosuppressants he had weekly blood tests!
Things that once frightened him were now routine to him.

I hope 2025 is kinder to the loving, caring little man that I am.

Slimming World Legend

I started Slimming World back in June. What do I need to do after a serious knee injury and weight gain. The group was really lovely and I made some lovely friends there.
I lost two stone before Christmas but being off work and enjoying the holidays meant I was a bit lost haha! I now need to start over and stay focused. Anyway, after laughing at all the Christmas treats and junk, I think I'm ready.

Return to gaming

I've always loved gaming, but you know what it's like, just finding the time to actually enjoy it!
Well, I started making time, and now I'm falling in love with gaming again, whether it's on PC, Rog Ally, Switch or PS5.
I play all kinds of different games. I think my favorites are the more story-based games, like Lake, Firewatch, They All Go to Rapture, Eastshade, etc.
Then there are shooters like Fortress Heroes and COD, and The Sims 4, which I spend the most time playing!
I just bought a few games off Steam because they are having a winter sale, and I'm about to start Snufkin Melody in Moominvalley.
Do you play games?

As we enter 2025, I wish you all a Happy New Year! I hope this is everything you hoped for and more.
