Patrick Mahomes not only has the richest contract in NFL history. Now, the quarterback of the Kansas City Chiefs is also the spokesperson of the most expensive football card ever.
A rookie card signed by Mahomes was sold for $4.3 million on Wednesday, setting a record for all football cards. Regardless of the sport, it is the fourth-highest-selling card ever.
PWCC Marketplace announced the sale of Mahomes 2017 Panini National Treasures 1-of-1, the NFL shield. It broke the record set in June, when a Tom Brady rookie card was sold for $3.1 million.

“People see Mahomes as the next Brady,” said Jesse Craig, director of business development at PWCC. ESPN“He is 25 years old and he has already won the Super Bowl and MVP awards. So, for him, the sky is unlimited…and his card value.”
“This is a perfect storm. It is a 1 to 1, NFL shield, card car, rookie. Some people are betting on Mahomes’ career, [and] this is the best. “
The purchase was made at LJ’s Card Shop in New Albany, Ohio.
Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers defeated the Chiefs in the Super Bowl in February, but the Kansas City quarterback is moving towards becoming one of the greatest NFL jersey players of all time. In just three seasons as a starter, Mahomes has won the NFL MVP award and the Super Bowl MVP award, and has participated in the Super Bowl twice.
Mahomes’s professional passing score of 108.7 is easily the best in league history. The Chiefs are expected to win the Super Bowl next year.
Brady won a record seven championships and five Super Bowl MVP awards. After the 2021 season, the former New England Patriots quarterback will rank first NFL career income.
Last summer, Mahomes signed a record 10-year $450 million renewal contract.
