Due to the increase in COVID-19 cases, a school district in one of Dallas’ largest suburbs is considering resuming distance learning for some students.
On Tuesday, the Frisco Independent School District (ISD) announced that they will provide online learning options for students under 6th grade. This option will be available nine weeks before school starts and will be “re-evaluated and expanded as needed” until vaccines are available for children under 12 years of age.
Since the vaccine is suitable for children 12 years of age or older, the virtual learning option is not suitable for children in grades 7-12.
Encourage families interested in online learning options to apply before August 5. There will be a two-day delay after the start of the school year, but the course will start quickly on August 16.
