On the morning of Labor Day, a man was shot and injured in the Chinatown International District (CID). Police are investigating.
At 5:14 am on September 6, 911 callers began reporting a shooting near the I-5 overpass on South Jackson Street. Soon after, a caller from 8th Avenue South and South King Street reported that he was with a man who had been shot in the arm.
The police arrived and immediately began to provide assistance to the victim, including using a tourniquet on his arm. The man was taken to Harbourview Medical Center in stable condition.
Based on the bloodstains left by the victim, the police located the shooting scene on a small road north of the 900th block of South Jackson Street, and entered the camp along the easternmost lane of the I-5 northbound collector dealer. The police found several cartridge cases from the scene and the shoulder of the highway.
