Conservative broadcaster Megan McCain ended her turbulent tenure on the popular daytime show “The View” on Thursday. McCain is the daughter of the late Arizona Senator John McCain and has been on the show since October 2017.
“I just want to tear off the Band-Aid. I’m here to tell you all…this will be my last season in’The View’,” McCain announced in the episode on Thursday.
“This is not an easy decision. COVID has changed the world for all of us. It has changed my way of life.”

McCain considers herself a Republican, and she will be remembered as the second-longest conservative co-host of the show. In addition to her multiple virality and high evaluation moments, she is not afraid to argue with her co-host. She is also a strong supporter of the LGBTQ community.
During the pandemic, she would film the show remotely from where she moved to Washington, D.C.-this was a decision she made because he was pregnant.
She once told ABC executives that she did not want to move back to New York City.
McCain said: “When I said goodbye to all of you in the studio, I found out that I was pregnant.” “I came to the DC area and we live an incredible life here. Any new mother knows, When I think about my hope that Liberty will take the first step, my life here is very good.”
McCain’s time spent on “The View” was very successful. Her appearance led to a surge in ratings. It became the daytime show with the highest ratings.
ABC said in a statement, “It understands and respects McCain’s desire to leave for his family.”

On Thursday, she targeted the media, pointing out “deep misogyny” and “sexism.”
“My final note for the world watching…the media needs to better report the women in this show,” she said. “We are overshadowed by the media’s deep hatred of women and sexism. If there are five men doing what we do every day, I really believe we might win a Pulitzer Prize.”
