Meghan Markle’s separated father believes that she has no intention of entering the political realm in the future.
Thomas Markle talked about various speculations about the Duchess of Sussex in an interview National Standard News Thursday, including rumors about her political ambitions. In the chat, Dan Wootton of GB News claimed to have heard from “a lot of people” that he “knows Meghan very well” that the former actress plans to run for president one day.
However, the former lighting director called the rumor a “joke.”
“From start to finish, I think this is a complete joke,” Thomas told the host. “I don’t think she has the ambition to become mayor. I don’t think she has the ambition to become governor or president. I don’t think she has this idea at all.”
The 77-year-old added: “If someone says it might be cute, but, you know, Oprah [Winfrey] If this happens, she will be pushed away anyway. “
Rumors that Markle might run for office have been circulating for some time. The Duchess’ biographer, Omid Scobie, previously stated in a documentary that she “focused on the presidency of the United States.” Vanity Fair Reported last year.
“Meghan is the embodiment of the American dream. One day we may see Meghan become president,” said the author of “In Search of Freedom: Harry, Meghan, and the Formation of the Modern Royal Family.”
A close friend of Markle, who asked not to be named, also told Vanity Fair that the Duchess “would seriously consider running for president.”
“One of the reasons she is so keen not to give up her U.S. citizenship is that she can choose to enter politics,” the friend claimed.
Meanwhile, royal biographer Tom Bower recently suggested in a column that he is currently writing a book about the Duchess of Sussex Sun She can follow in the footsteps of Arnold Schwarzenegger and other Hollywood stars and join politics.
In addition to commenting on his daughter’s future plans, Thomas also criticized the Duchess and her husband, Prince Harry, for their blockbuster interview with Oprah Winfrey in March.
“Meghan and Harry are attacking the world. Attacking his 95-year-old grandmother is unforgivable,” the 77-year-old told GB News.
He continued, “They were embarrassed to do this. A few years ago they told me to’never talk to the media’. It was embarrassing, but then they spent a few hours watching the show with Oprah.”
Since Markle and her father staged paparazzi photos in 2018 and canceled her royal wedding, he and her father have been estranged. Thomas has since accepted many interviews, criticizing his daughter and son-in-law.
Last month, Thomas Tell Fox News said he plans to take the couple to court because he has the right to see his grandson with Duchess Archie and Lily.
However, lawyer Mark Gross, whose clients included Charlie Sheen and Lisa Marie Presley, told U.S. Weekly He is unlikely to win visitation rights.
The lawyer pointed out that “because there is no relationship between Mr. Markle and his grandchildren, no court will give him access to visits.” He added that Thomas was interviewed on TV and expressed his intention to seek visits. This is not the best for children, and it is “just for self-service”.
