Mercedes boss opens up to Hamilton’s possible F1 2022 teammate


Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff said the world champion will decide in the next few months who will partner with Lewis Hamilton next season.

Mercedes Hamilton’s new deal was announced on Saturday’s last weekend in Austria. Mercedes tied Hamilton until the end of 2023 because the British team offered their star driver a new two-year contract. For Hamilton’s partner, Mercedes, who has won seven consecutive World Constructors’ Championships since 2014, will make a decision between Valtery Bottas and their junior driver George Russell, who is currently William Plays for Muss.

Bottas has been a member of Mercedes since 2017, winning 9 victories and 52 podiums for the team in 78 races.

Wolf continued to say that the team management has not discussed with Bottas and Russell individually and is expected to make a decision before the end of the term.
