Virtual and augmented reality has become a growing trend in healthcare, with hospitals applying the technology to prepare for surgery, reduce patient anxiety, and help patients better understand how surgery is done.Virtual worlds will be part of what’s coming Investing in Digital Health Conferenceslated for Wednesday, September 28 in Dallas, and presented in partnership with Health Wildcatters.

Dr. Mona Flores, Global Head of Artificial Intelligence in Medicine Nvidia, will deliver a keynote speech to kick off the conference.Call Metaverse in Healthcare, the keynote will focus on how virtual worlds, artificial intelligence and the healthcare industry intersect with each other. Major tech companies and others are betting on an immersive 3D virtual world with a wealth of different experiences. What would it look like in healthcare? Hear from the top executives of one of today’s most prominent AI companies — a company at the forefront of imagining healthcare, whether creating medical or non-medical experiences.

The broader topic of the INVEST Digital Health Conference is employee health benefits. Healthcare professionals will discuss a wide range of topics in the context of how self-insured employers and employees receive health benefits. The session will explore topics such as how employers are managing healthcare costs, the rise of virtual care, how they are addressing healthcare in the workplace, and the consumerisation of healthcare.

Additionally, we are looking for startups to apply for the Pitch Perfect competition.

The following are the criteria for INVEST Digital Health to apply for Pitch Perfect:

  • We’re looking for the next generation of insurance companies, care navigators, or startups that help improve employee benefits and provide ROI.
  • The competition is only open to startups established in 2020 and earlier.
  • Your company has raised at least $1 million or Series A funding, or has qualified institutional or strategic investors.
  • If you participate in a MedCity event in 2021 or 2022, you are not eligible to enter this competition.
  • Selected startups will provide an overview of their company and take questions from a panel of investor judges. The winner will receive an editorial profile in MedCity News.
