Monolith M-TWE earplug review

Who are the Monolith M-TWE earplugs suitable for?

  • this Monolith M-TWE earplugs Provides surprisingly excellent sound quality for a pair of wireless earbuds
  • M-TWE earplugs look great, feel like a premium product, and have a unique shape
  • M-TWE has noise reduction mode and ambient sound mode

Wireless earplugs tend to perform well in one area, but do not match the quality of other earplugs in different areas. The same is true Monolith M-TWE earplugs. These earplugs have the best audio quality I have ever heard, and the price is less than $100. However, from an aesthetic point of view, I really like their unique shape, which may be the downfall of M-TWE.

Unique and huge shape

this Monolith M-TWE earplugs It has a unique round shape that I have never really seen in other earbud options. It does help the earplugs stand out a bit, and I like how they feel in my hands. The earplugs also have considerable weight, which again makes them feel good. However, how they feel in my ears is another matter.

M-TWE in my ear

the weight of M-TWE bud Prolonged use can cause some very serious discomfort, and because of the round shape, this means that the top of the earplugs has a considerable weight. This causes the M-TWE earphones to slide out of place regularly, even with the smallest eartip tips. It’s never a bad thing that earplugs completely fall off my ears, but it does make wearing earplugs a bit uncomfortable, especially for long periods of time.

More than just clicking controls

Like most other wireless earbuds today, Monolith M-TWE earplugs There is faucet control. However, I don’t really care about how they are implemented. With one click, you can switch between the noise reduction function, the ambient noise function, and both. We will cover these functions in more detail later, but I always prefer it when the click option is play/pause or volume control. Changing the noise function accidentally is more annoying than accidentally pausing for a second or two, but it’s just me.

M-TWE earplugs in their case

You can still click to play/pause the music, but this requires a double-click. To make this easier, M-TWE earplugs There is a sensor inside that can determine when an earplug has been removed. Once this happens, the earbuds will tell the audio source to pause, and once the earbuds are put back in place, it will automatically resume. This works well, but if the earbuds are held in a closed hand, the sensor may be deceived. It does need to hold the earplugs in a specific way to avoid accidentally resuming playback.

However, my bigger problem with faucet control is Monolith M-TWE Including volume adjustment. To change the volume, the user needs to swipe up or down on the earbuds. In theory, I don’t mind this. It’s a bit like how M-TWE uses its large and flat face, but the bulkiness of the earplugs makes this very difficult. Since the earplugs are very large and heavy, sliding up and down often causes the earplugs to pop out, or at least be removed.

Surprising sound quality

use Monolith M-TWE earplugs, I was shocked at how wonderful they sounded. What is really eye-catching is the ability of the earbuds to handle stereo. The music bounces back and forth, or is isolated on one ear to the other, making the music sound more realistic and rich.

The shell is slightly larger than most wireless earbud shells

By default, audio mixing is fairly flat. This means that the bass is not necessarily heavier or lighter than the midrange and treble. These earplugs certainly won’t make anyone shake their heads with bass, but that doesn’t mean they are completely lost. It’s still there, but it’s mixed enough not to be overwhelming.

The microphone can’t keep up

As good as audio Monolith M-TWE, The built-in microphone cannot keep up. When the earbuds are paired with a laptop, there are few problems when making a video call, but the experience during the call is quite different. The person I spoke to said that I sounded like I was standing in a traffic, even though it was actually in the middle of my quiet kitchen. Turning off my air conditioner did help, but I was told that my voice was still a bit quiet.

What is the effect of noise reduction

Anyone who has read my previous review of wireless earbuds with noise reduction may complain that the noise reduction function does not actually work. Compared with headphones, earplugs are too small, so they lack the space and power to really make an impact.

M-TWE earplugs are a bit too big

This is the same as Monolith M-TWE earplugs. When switching between Noise Reduction, Ambient Sound and None, the biggest significant difference is when the Ambient Sound is turned on. What all this really does is activate M-TWE’s microphone and input the audio along with any content coming through the earbuds. However, the noise level heard between turning on and turning off noise cancellation is more or less the same. There is a very subtle difference, but it is very small.

SoundID app

There is an optional app called SoundID that can be used with Monolith M-TWE earplugs. In theory, the app allows users to create custom audio profiles on M-TWE earbuds based on the results of a simple listening test. This application is not unique to M-TWE and supports many other products.

What I said above is theoretical, because the app refuses to let me create an account. After entering all my information during registration, clicking the “Continue” button has no effect. I tried many times, so I am not sure what the problem is. The SoundID app is not important for Monolith M-TWE earbuds, so thankfully, we can skip it. In addition, the audio on the M-TWE earbuds is already great.

Final thoughts

Man, this is difficult.I really want to love Monolith M-TWE earplugs Because they really have some top audio quality. I dug up the unique shapes, and they look and feel much better than many other earplugs I have used. There is a very rare premium quality, especially for things under $100.

However, this unique shape may be M-TWEDownfall. The round design makes the earplugs top-heavy, which makes it strange and uncomfortable in my ears. This basically makes the volume control unusable without any more work than just changing the volume on any device paired with the earbuds.

In other words, if you think your ears are bigger than mine M-TWEThe sound quality is really worth a try. It will be difficult for you to find wireless earbuds with better sound quality in the same price range.
