Designed to help pre-verbal children develop from zero to first words, the app uses a video modeling approach to provide parents with clear pronunciation guidance to promote speech development in the comfort of their own home.
To ensure its effectiveness in further aiding autism spectrum disorders and speech delays, the app works closely with speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists and medical professionals who prioritize the unique needs of individuals on the autism spectrum. Its team is comprised of parents with personal experience raising children with autism and has extensive expertise in preschool and special education content development.

Autism spectrum disorder (ASD), commonly known as autism, is a global disorder that affects approximately 1% of the world's population (or 75 million people). In the Philippines, approximately 1.2 million cases of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) have been reported, with approximately 1 in 100 children diagnosed with autism. This highlights the lack of accessible and affordable occupational and speech therapy services for Filipino parents of children with autism spectrum disorder. With this, Mylo Speech Buddy would like to emphasize that early intervention is crucial to enhance learning, communication, social skills, and promote positive changes in underlying brain development.
The technology platform will release a series of “Ausome Stories” videos on social media starting on World Autism Awareness Day on April 2, 2024. The films will follow 10 real families with members of the autism spectrum, showing their daily lives, challenges, journeys, examples of happiness, and the stereotypes and social judgments they encounter.
Rocha also emphasized the importance of storytelling in promoting understanding and empathy, “Ausome Stories allows us to share the diverse experiences of people with autism and celebrate their strengths and achievements.”
