It added: “Netflix’s violations have hurt the feelings of the entire Vietnamese people and caused anger.”
The statement also stated that this is the third time in the past 12 months that Netflix has been found to “distribute movies and TV shows that contain content that violates Vietnam’s sovereignty.”
It selected the Chinese romantic comedy “Put your head on my shoulder” and the political drama “Mrs. Secretary”.
Netflix confirmed that Pine Gap has been removed in Vietnam, and it is described as an international political thriller set in the Australian and US joint defense intelligence facility in Pine Gap, Australia’s Northern Territory.
“In accordance with the written legal requirements of the Vietnamese regulatory agency, we have removed the licensed episode Pine Gap from Netflix in Vietnam to comply with local laws.
“It can still be used for our services in other parts of the world.”
