To help address the need, Magellan Health and neural flow Announce On Tuesday, they collaborated to provide personalized behavioral health and well-being support. Headquartered in Frisco, Texas, Magellan provides counseling services to military members and their spouses. Philadelphia-based Neuroflow, a mental health platform, will complement this by providing access to resources and support through its app. The companies did not disclose the financial terms of the partnership.
NeuroFlow offers private and simple ways to manage stressors through self-care tools, including cognitive behavioral therapy exercises (such as challenging negative or problematic thoughts or beliefs) and meditation. Its platform also helps proactively identify deteriorating behavioral health conditions and match individuals to the right level of care.
“As a veteran, I can say that the unpredictability of military life has the potential to bring peaks and valleys to our mental health,” NeuroFlow CEO Chris Moraro said in an email. “Having a tool that can provide some answers and detect ‘valleys’ before they get attention is what this partnership is all about.”
The first 18-month phase of the program will be launched at three military bases, but Moraro said he could not disclose which ones at this time for privacy and security reasons. Magellan’s subsidiary, Magellan Commonwealth, will lead the program.
“Our Magellan Commonwealth team is deeply committed to helping address the health and well-being of the military families we serve,” Magellan Commonwealth Interim Senior Vice President Anna Seifer said in a statement. “Through our collaboration with NeuroFlow, we offer a digital solution focused on taking a unique, evidence-based approach to preventing and early identification of problems.”

“We know that behavioral health cannot be a one-size-fits-all approach — everyone has different needs, and those needs can and often do change over time,” Moraro said.
He hopes that collaborations like this one between Magellan and NeuroFlow can also help dispel the stigma surrounding mental health in the military world.
“We need to limit the barriers people face when seeking mental health care; that’s where technology can help. Too many people are losing their lives because of a lack of exposure, and in fact, a lack of hope for improvement,” Moraro said. “We want those who seek help to get it in a timely manner, and those who don’t know they need it recognize that they have a support system to help.”
