Colin Kaepernick can still be used as a backup quarterback for any NFL team at best.
In addition, most people think that Kaepernick’s era as an NFL player is over.
Interview with Filipino journalists Vincent Juico and Brian Yalung on the National Movement PH podcast, The San Francisco 49ers beat reporter Matt Maoko to weigh the possibility of the 33-year-old player returning to the NFL.
“Frankly, no. I don’t think he will have the opportunity to play in the NFL anymore. After the 2016 season, it’s a tough game. The 49ers will leave him as a quarterback. No team really shows up. He has great interest in a contract of the kind he wants,” Mayoko said.
Maiocco also discussed the Seattle Seahawks’ invitation to the former 49ers player.
Seeing Russell Wilson present, the 54-year-old reporter said that the Seahawks did not plan to give him a contract.
“I know the Seahawks took him to Seattle and Pete Carroll, where the coach met him. But as far as the contract is concerned, they won’t give him much, because they already have Russell Wilson, “Mayoko explained.
Maiocco answered Yalung’s question about the possibility of Kaepernick trying to follow Tim Tebow’s route.
The 2007 Heisman Cup winner turned from a quarterback to a close end and is likely to succeed in the Jacksonville Jaguars. He didn’t see Kaepernick doing this.
“No, I don’t think so. I think Colin is a very proud person. I don’t think registering with Kaepernick to change positions and come back as tight end or other positions. I really don’t think this will be the case,” he said .

Maiocco pointed out that at the age of 33, it will be very difficult to return to the NFL-even if he has to act as a backup quarterback.
“Colin Kaepernick is now at a stage in his life and his football career will be at a disadvantage. He is 33 years old and it is really difficult to make such a change. He can hardly even be a quarterback. The identity is back in the game,” he emphasized.
