the fourth part

Within the scope of the 6×6 lightning protection vehicle (MKKA) procurement project signed by FNSS and the Presidential Palace of Defense Industry (SSB), PARS IV 6×6 Special Operations (S-Ops) vehicles are designed to meet tactical and operational requirements. The mission is “special “The requirements of the military and domestic security forces. It can operate in a wide range of terrain and climate types, and is optimized for different operating requirements.

PARS IV 6×6 SOV provides an unparalleled optimal combination of the survivability of MRAP vehicles and the tactical mobility of wheeled armored combat vehicles. The vehicle’s high-level ballistic, mine and improvised explosive device protection, and RPG network are designed to protect the occupants and power groups from unconventional threats whose duration and intensity cannot be estimated. In the project launched in 2019; all mines, improvised explosive devices and ballistic tests of vehicles are conducted by users. The vehicle has been tested for advanced landmine threats as well as improvised explosive devices and ballistic threats from all directions as defined in the survivability standards.

The vehicle’s weapon system is designed to simultaneously engage multiple targets from all directions (including high ground). Two remote control turrets are located at the front and rear of the vehicle. The weapon system is equipped with a universal weapon stand, which can be equipped with a 7.62mm, 0.50 Cal machine gun or a 40mm automatic grenade launcher, and can be easily replaced according to mission requirements. The 2-axis stability allows shooting on the move, and the height of the gun increases to be able to engage high ground (tops of buildings, cliffs, etc.) and/or low-altitude aerial targets.

The vehicle is equipped with a new generation of mission equipment to ensure combat effectiveness, safer route planning, command/control and rapid targeting. It is specifically designed to transport special operations forces to mission targets that may have multiple threats and provide them with fire support . The team in the field. All team members have a high level of electronic and optical situational awareness. The special design of the vehicle provides the driver and the personnel at the front of the vehicle with the maximum optical visual situational awareness of over 180 degrees. The new generation of electronic infrastructure provides 360-degree situational awareness for all team members. Due to these features, the vehicle can be easily operated under armor at any time, with the door in the closed position.

The high-performance power unit and the independent hydro-pneumatic suspension system with adjustable ride height provide unparalleled tactical maneuverability to overcome difficult terrain and road conditions and provide driving safety and comfort for the occupants.

It is highly versatile and reflects the wide range of potential tasks and operating areas. PARS IV 6×6 S-Ops vehicles can operate in all weather and all terrain conditions, day and night, including off-road and urban areas. The front and rear axle steering provides a narrower turning radius than a 4×4 vehicle. This unique function can achieve rapid maneuverability in narrow spaces, especially in urban areas with weak infrastructure.

With the support of stakeholders, FNSS has once again brought into play its R&D capabilities, experience and new generation vehicle development capabilities. The PARS IV 6×6 special operations vehicle will be delivered to the Turkish Armed Forces special operations unit in 2021. Therefore, the latest generation of 6×6 tanks will serve in the Turkish Armed Forces for the first time.
