You will be part of Quartz’s growing distributed team and help shape our unique way of reporting business and financial news. This position will focus on the current and future forces shaping global finance-technology, regulation and sustainable investment. You will mine news and data and quickly translate them into provocative articles to provide our readers with real insights.
We are looking for reporters with the following conditions:
- Rich experience in professional reporting on financial topics
- Facilities with data
- Treat their work in an entrepreneurial way
- The ability to convey authority and curiosity in writing
- Interested in mentoring or mentoring junior reporters
Successful candidates will demonstrate an understanding of the basic foundations of the banking and finance industry, while also being able to identify critical moments or predict their evolution and growth. The reporter will have a unique understanding of how financial innovation is driven by the shortcomings of traditional banking and any radical technological heuristic transformation. This may mean the increasing power of retail investors and EFTs, the impact of decentralized finance, and the future of IPOs.
When studying the emerging trends of fintech and cryptocurrencies, you should equally easily study consumer banking and debt trends, transactions and exchanges, and the future of Wall Street banks.
