Japanese gaming giant Sony earlier announced that its next PlayStation Showcase will be held next week. If the latest news about the untitled “God of War” sequel (colloquially known as “God of War: Ragnarok”) proves to be accurate, then the highly anticipated title will appear on the show.
The most recent leak comes from Xbox Era co-founder Nick Baker, who claimed that “God of War: Ragnarok” will appear in the upcoming PlayStation Showcase. Insiders have accurately leaked information related to PlayStation in the past, and previously talked about the PS activities that took place this month.
In a tweet, Baker shared a screenshot of his conversation with a source, suggesting that the long-awaited title will appear at the event.
Since the gaming giant was absent from this year’s E3, fans have been waiting to watch the PlayStation event. It looks like they are enjoying the treatment, because Sony is expected to make a surprising announcement at an upcoming event.
“I was told there were some super announcements,” VGC’s Andy Robinson wrote on Twitter.
Based on Sony announcement, The next PlayStation Showcase will be held on September 9th at around 1pm Pacific Time (4pm Eastern Time). The event will last for 40 minutes.
According to reports, fans can expect “PlayStation Studios and some of the most imaginative developers in the industry will release game updates this holiday and beyond.”

Sony also comfirmed PSVR 2 will not appear in PlayStation Showcase. Instead, the event will focus on “a large number of outstanding PS5 games from developers large and small.”
The Japanese gaming giant has not yet revealed the list of games players can look forward to at the event. However, fans want to see the full trailer for the untitled “God of War” sequel.
It can be recalled that when Sony announced the game in a short trailer in 2020, the company did not reveal its official name. Without announcing its official name, fans continued to call it “God of War: Twilight of the Gods”.
The game was originally scheduled to be released this year, but the Santa Monica Studios finally decided to release it emission By 2022.
