Readers disappointed by NWAW

Overall, I really appreciate NWAW. I consider it a reliable source of information about the life and affairs of the local Asian American community. Thank you.

However, I must admit that reading the October 29 edition left me confused and frustrated.

That’s why. On the front page, I saw “Chinatown’s Mass Exodus,” describing the horrors that Chinatown International District (CID) business owners face every day. As a result, many businesses relocated or closed permanently.

On page 3 of the same issue, “CID Protesters Demand County Government $20 Million for Past Injuries.” The article takes a more direct approach, blaming the government for the desperate plight of many Asian business owners.

Then, on the next page, NWAW backs the Senator.Patty Murray, Rep. Susan DelBayer, Rep. Kim Schler, and more

This is the same quote from Senator Murray on page 18: “Local small businesses are the heart and soul of our communities.” If anything, Senator Murray, Rep. DelBaney or Rep. Schrier did What to prevent the collapse of CID? Mitigate the damage already done?

So, if I understand correctly, your thesis supports a candidate running for re-election even though the failure of the government has had such a profound effect on the Asian American community.

Why?

greeting,
— Chris Prentkey
