We celebrated Matilda and Cow’s 7th birthday with some dog-friendly tacos. This is not the first time we have enjoyed tacos on the blog, you may remember our Cinco De Mayo Bean Mashed Taco Snacks Once upon a time. These tacos are a complete meal with all the ingredients. The best part is that they are a healthy, easy-to-digest celebration meal that most dogs can tolerate regardless of their usual diet.

The situation has changed a lot since Cow contracted severe pancreatitis a year ago. She is on a low-fat diet and rarely eats raw food. Now she is on a diet, she can tolerate it and there is no allergen in the 5Strands test, she is finally in good health. I hope to slowly introduce fresh food into her diet again. Even healthy fats like sardines can sometimes cause mild diarrhea episodes, so I was hesitant to give her raw food. Although there are some low-fat raw foods to choose from, I only give her a small amount, and instead give her cooked chicken breasts as much as possible.

In general, she did a great job. She is flourishing. I still think she was the healthiest when she was eating garbage on the street when she was a child, but this may be because her food intolerance didn’t appear until she was about two years old.

As for Matilda, she is still happy to eat anything. They all love these delicious chicken tacos. I made chicken taco dinners for my family. I like that it is such a hearty and healthy meal with so many of our favorite ingredients. After preparing some regular mashed avocados for dogs, I use the rest to make delicious avocados. We can’t wait for the next puppy’s birthday to host another taco party!

Season the dog’s food

Although dogs don’t mind eating light boiled chicken breasts hungrily, you can add some seasonings to your dog’s food to add flavor. Many condiments, including coriander, have antioxidant and disease resistance properties. Just avoid onions and peppers, Google anything you are not sure about.

Yes, avocados are safe for dogs. Only the skin, leaves and checkers of avocados are poisonous to dogs. They are an important source of healthy fats. There is even a dog food called Avoderm, which contains avocado.

Adding salt is not necessary and is best avoided.
