In the defense’s closing statement, Kyle Rittenhouse’s lawyer placed his client alongside the police officer who shot. Jacob Black, Pointed out that although the latter shot three more shots than Rittenhouse, but did not face prison.
On Monday afternoon, defense attorney Mark Richards told the jury: “Others in this community have been shot seven times, but they were found to be fine.” “My client gave someone four shots. gun.”
Richard’s remarks seem to refer to Kenosha Police Officer Rasten Siski, who shot and killed 29-year-old Black Black seven times on August 23, 2020.

After the shooting, Kenosha faced many nights of unrest and racial justice protests. The next night, Rittenhouse shot and killed two men, Joseph Rosenbaum and Anthony Huber, and wounded the third man Geiger Grosskrutz.
In Rosenbaum’s case, Rittenhouse fired four shots.
Rittenhouse faces five felony charges related to the shooting. He pleaded not guilty to all charges and argued that he was in self-defense.
In early January, the Kenosha County Attorney announced that police officers involved in the Black shooting, including Siski, would not be charged. At the time, District Attorney Michael Graveley stated that Siski’s argument for taking self-defense action would be difficult to overturn.
