Arnold Schwarzenegger has been facing some strong opposition after sharing his feelings about people who refuse to wear masks amid the increase in COVID-19 cases caused by the Delta variant.
on Wednesday, The former governor of California talked with CNN’s Bianna Golodryga and Alexander Vindman about COVID-19 misinformation and discussed his views on people who believe that wearing masks violates their rights.
“Go to your freedom. Because freedom comes with duties and responsibilities. You can’t just say, “I have the right to X, Y, and Z.” “When you affect other people, that’s when things get serious,” Schwarzenegger Say.
Schwarzenegger continues to compare the ignorance of wearing masks with violations of traffic laws.
“You can’t say,’No one will tell me I’m going to stop here, I have to stop at this traffic light here. I’m going to pass it. Then you kill someone, and then this is what you did,” he Say.
“This is the same thing as a virus,” the actor continued. “You can’t go without wearing a mask, because when you breathe, you can infect others. You can infect a person, and then he gets sick and may die.”
After his comments, Schwarzenegger’s name became a hot topic. Some people slammed the “Terminator” star while reminding him of his Austrian background and privileged Hollywood lifestyle.
“Well, I think I am no longer a fan of Arnold. Trample my freedom? Fuck you,” Read a tweet.
Another post seemed to indicate that Schwarzenegger’s comments reminded them of Adolf Hitler.
“Arnold Schwarzenegger commented on’destroying your freedom’ when referring to people who refused to follow CDC guidelines. Sounds like another famous Austrian from the 1930s,” It read.
Schwarzenegger has always advocated following the COVID-19 guidelines to stop the spread and end the virus. In January, He shared a video of himself vaccinated against the coronavirus on Twitter and encouraged his followers to roll up their sleeves to get vaccinated.
