Responding to major initiatives and major health changes

After moving to a new state recently, I had hoped that my health would be back on track.I thought I was loyal to 4 pillars of health That’s enough, but something is changing. I gained weight, lost muscles, and lacked energy. I think stress is its root cause. After all, it is 2020. Who had no pressure that year?

In order to find the root cause of the problem, I conducted a series of tests under the guidance of my functional medicine doctor (he will play in our next episode) and started to treat the problems we found.

Change ideas to improve health

Coping with these changes requires a change in the way of thinking. Instead of being frustrated with this process and wanting to force things to go faster, I refocused on why I wanted to be healthy in the first place and gave myself extra love.

Can continue to use mine Betty rocker practice The four pillars of staying healthy really support me along the way. Everything I did before this year felt like “health savings” that I could use, and I was fortunate to be able to build this flexibility in myself.

quotation marks:

“You still want to do your own research, listen to your body, and see what’s going on. Do your best to make your own healthy lifestyle, instead of relying 100% on your doctor to tell you what happened… …. The more knowledge we gain for ourselves, the better and faster we can become allies with our doctors and recover faster.” [8:21]

“When you find out that something is happening to you, whether it’s hormones, disease or injury-the underlying problem your body deals with at the cellular level-you have to give yourself time to heal.” [13:26]

“I have to really stop worrying about what other people think of me, and be more concerned about what I think of myself and how I plan to take care of myself. I just really focus on my mental health and self-love.” [14:23]

“I think we just need to be kind to ourselves and let the process unfold, knowing that you are learning new things every day that can help you in your journey and stay open to them.” [34:13]

Key points of this episode

  1. Weight gain does not necessarily mean that you should eat less and exercise more. There may be many reasons for it. Talk to your doctor and get the tests you need to find the source of the problem.
  2. Healing takes time and patience. Focus on the things you can control and never stop loving and accepting yourself.
  3. Mental health is as important as physical health.
