Serving with Splenda Recipe Book Services will be provided to adults, children and adolescents with T1D through JDRF’s New Diagnosis Care Package.
About JDRF and Type 1 Diabetes
JDRF is dedicated to working to end type 1 diabetes by funding research, advocating for government support, ensuring new treatments are accessible and affordable, and connecting the type 1 diabetes community. Type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune disease that affects a person’s ability to produce insulin. Insulin helps blood sugar enter the body’s cells to produce energy. Without insulin, blood sugar can build up in the blood, which is harmful to the body. Type 1 diabetes was formerly known as juvenile diabetes because the disease is typically diagnosed in children and young adults. However, the disease can occur at any age, which is why we now call it type 1 diabetes.

Our mission is to help people with diabetes live happier, healthier, longer lives and are proud to partner with JDRF because we believe in the power of research, advocacy and resources. We launched our partnership in 2022 and shared the Serve It Up with Splenda recipe book, which will be included in 27,000 child, teen and adult care packages. This cookbook is a valuable resource for newly diagnosed patients who are asking how to still enjoy their favorite foods without raising blood sugar levels. JDRF offers specific care packages for different populations, including bag of hope (children), Unlimited Teen Care Kit (teenagers), and Unlimited Adult Care Kit (adult).
