materials needed
This carefully considered cider recipe consists of only the freshest ingredients, which are combined to make a warm flavor bomb holiday drink.
Hot cider
- cider: High-quality, fresh cider is the way to get the best flavor.
- Hot cider spice: You will use star anise, cinnamon sticks and a small piece of fresh ginger to flavor the cider.
- fruit: We use a combination of lime slices, orange slices and fresh cranberries.
Optional pecan caramel rim
- Coconut milk, vanilla extract, butter and sea salt: Make dairy-free homemade caramel to decorate the rim of the glasses.
- Pecan slices: Use chopped or even ground pecans. The smaller the pieces, the easier it is to stick to the caramel!
Optional plugin
When it comes to adding alcohol, I always recommend starting with less and adding more according to taste. You can always add more, but you can’t take it out!
- Bourbon or dark rum: I recommend 1.5 – 2 ounces per glass of cider.
- Liquor: Adjust the wine to cider ratio according to your preferences.
- Vodka: You can use regular vodka or caramel vodka to create interesting flavors. I recommend 1.5 – 2 ounces per glass of cider.
Get creative with this festive entertainment recipe by creating a separate spiked cider bar! Just place the wine next to the slow cooker and let friends or family make their own spiced cider drink!

Health benefits of pecans
Compared with many other nuts, pecans have lower carbohydrate content and higher fiber content. They are a “good” source of monounsaturated fats, including the beneficial oleic acid in olive oil! A handful of pecans (about 19 and a half) is a good source of fiber, thiamine and zinc, as well as an excellent source of copper and manganese-copper and manganese are minerals essential for metabolism and bone health. In addition, they have that delicious buttery taste! I like to use pecan slices when cutting pecan slices to make my life easier!

Can you make this Crockpot cider on the stove?
Absolutely! Although I prefer to make this recipe in a clay pot, you can easily make it on the stove if you are in a hurry.
Simply mix everything in a large saucepan and heat the mixture over low heat until heated. However, make sure that the cider keeps a low simmer. If boiled, the cider can be separated.
Cider Spice
Once you have a good cider, it’s time to season it and cook it! Cinnamon and star anise are the stars here. If you have cloves, allspice and nutmeg on hand, you can also add them to your cider recipe.
Can you use ground spices?
Ground spices will produce a rough texture and cloudy appearance, which is not very pleasant and difficult to filter out. The whole spices add all the delicious flavors, but when you are ready to serve, you can remove them from the cider!
