Within three hours on the morning of Sunday, July 25, a series of unrelated shootings occurred in the International District of Chinatown, Belltown, Pioneer Square and Capitol Hill, resulting in 3 deaths and 5 injuries.
Chinatown-International District
A woman with a gunshot wound to her abdomen arrived at Bellevue Hospital at about 3:29 am. She said she was shot to death near Seattle’s 12th Avenue South and South Avenue.The police later learned that the shooting took place around 1:40 in the morning
Belltown
At 1:48 in the morning, a bar employee in the 2200 block of First Avenue reported that a physical conflict had occurred in their store. Participants spilled from the bar onto the street and parking lot. When the police arrived and began to disperse the battle, they heard gunfire nearby. Officials quickly found an adult male who had suffered a gunshot wound and tried to rescue him. Medical staff from the Seattle Fire Department (SFD) also responded and tried to treat the victim, but they eventually announced that he was dead.
Pioneer Square
At 2:32 in the morning, several people called the police about a shooting near West Plaza. The police officers who arrived found multiple shooting scenes and two men with gunshot wounds. SFD medical staff announced that one man was dead and the other was taken to Harbourview Medical Center (HMC) in critical condition.
Before any emergency personnel arrived, the other three were transported by private vehicles to a nearby hospital. One of the victims who was sent to HMC later died from his injuries.
Capitol Hill
At 4:40 in the morning, the 911 caller reported hearing several gunshots in Cal Anderson Park. Soon after, a man with a gunshot wound arrived at HMC in a shared car. He told the police that he was shot dead in the park after participating in a basketball game.
