In a new lawsuit, a woman accused Tesla of fostering a “rampant” environment for sexual harassment at its factory in Fremont, California.
In the interview Washington post, Worker Jessica Baraza accused the company of letting the situation develop.
In the lawsuit, it stated that the Tesla factory is “similar to… the Brotherhood House,” which contradicts the progressive nature of the San Francisco area. According to reports, Barraza also asked his doctor for sick leave due to post-traumatic stress and anxiety.
Tesla hired Barraza as a production assistant in 2018. In the lawsuit, she claimed that her male colleague harassed her, including verbal abuse and inappropriate physical contact, and that her superiors were aware of and participated in the toxic environment. The human resources complaint did not protect her.
The specific content listed in the complaint is that the male worker commented on Barraza’s “Coke bottle” image, “fat **” or “onion stolen goods.” The complaint also stated that the male workers would “use Ms. Barraza’s back (including their groin) or touch her unnecessarily under the pretext of working together at close range.”
Barraza’s complaint was filed in the California Superior Court, but Tesla CEO and SpaceX CEO and founder Elon Musk did not name them in the lawsuit. Although Musk did not give his name, Baraza cited a tweet he wrote in an interview with the Washington Post that contributed to a toxic culture.
“I’m considering opening a new university: Texas Institute of Technology,” Musk wrote. The acronym will be TITS (a reference to female breasts). “It will have epic merchandise that is widely acclaimed,” Musk continued.
In an interview with The Washington Post, Baraza said: “This does not set a good example for the factory-it almost gives a kind of…’ He talked about it on Twitter, and it must be okay. ,'”. “This is unfair to myself, my family, and other women working there.”

In 2017, former Tesla engineer AJ Van der Maiden Sued Tesla, claiming that women were denied promotion, paid lower than men’s universities, and then faced retaliation after contacting the Human Resources Department. A few months after Van der Maiden’s statement became public, Tesla fired her.
“Tesla is responsible for the systematic sexual harassment in its factories,” Barazza’s lawyer David A. Lowe told edge“We filed this case to stop the harassment of Ms. Barraza and her colleagues.”
