As the preseason progresses, a few teams have a particularly bleak outlook for the 2021 NFL season. The Houston Texans and Detroit Lions are expected to be at the bottom of the sport’s worst-record game.

The New York Jets ranked third with +1000. The Cincinnati Bengals (+1100), Jacksonville Jaguars (+1300) and Philadelphia Eagles (+1500) all have low expectations for 2021. The Las Vegas Raiders (+1600) and Carolina Panthers (+1800) are considered dark horse candidates to play the worst football this year.
There is no reason to be optimistic about Houston’s 2021 campaign. In his trade request and pending legal issues, DeShawn Watson’s game state is still very unclear. The quarterback did not participate in their first preseason game with the Texans.
Even like Watson Play better Compared with almost all quarterbacks last season, the Texans tied for third place in the NFL with a 4-12 record. With a first-year head coach and so many problems in the most important position of the sport, Houston may not be able to match the total number of wins in the league’s expanded 17-game schedule.
Detroit also had a new head coach after the 5-11 season. When they traded Matthew Stafford for Jared Goff, the Lions quarterback was demoted. Detroit is expected to continue to maintain its final results in NFC North for three consecutive years.
The Lions may be the worst team in a highly competitive department. The Jets are regarded as the fourth-best team in the AFC East.
New York is expected to improve from last year’s 2-14 record, but the Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins and New England Patriots are all real contenders in the playoffs. No. 2 rookie Zach Wilson is expected to become the starting quarterback for the Jets. The Jets averaged 15.2 points per game in 2020, the worst in the league, making them the only team to average less than 17.5 points per game.
The Bengals, Jaguars and Eagles are all led by quarterbacks who have never played a full NFL season.
The Raiders have won at least seven games for two consecutive years. It may be difficult for Las Vegas to play in the mighty AFC West.
The Kansas City Chiefs, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Buffalo Bills, the Cleveland Browns, the San Francisco 49ers and the Baltimore Ravens tied for the NFL’s worst long-range shot in 2021 with an odds of +25,000.
