The creators of South Park support a sport Save a beloved Colorado restaurant.
Trey Parker and Matt Stone have begun trying to become the new owners of Casa Bonita, a local institution that was once famous on their shows.
“We want to buy Casa Bonita and treat it properly. I think it was ignored even before the pandemic,” Parker said Hollywood Report.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this restaurant in Denver has been closed for more than a year. After its owner filed for bankruptcy, locals are trying to save “cultural and historical icons”.
He added: “We are definitely trying to buy it. We will do our best. We want to do it well and make it amazing.”
Fans of South Park Will recall the famous 2003 drama, in which the character Kyle held a Mexican-themed birthday party in the restaurant, which is based on the crew’s childhood visit memory.
It also appeared in video games in 2017 South Park: broken but complete And it has been mentioned many times in the show.
Opened in 1974, Casa Bonita has arcades, caves and waterfalls where there are cliff divers.
The current owner, Summit Family Restaurants, applied for Chapter 11 protection in Arizona in April, but the sale was shelved due to court proceedings.
Parker talked about some changes in their plans.
“We started talking about the changes we were going to make-mainly in terms of food,” he said. “We will make great food. I’m already thinking about how to make Black Bart’s Cave bigger.”
He added: “It just sits there. It sucks. For a moment,’Casa Bonita is going to close down,’ we said,’We are going to buy it.’ I think this is the highest achievement in my life.”

Locals raised nearly $70,000 through GoFundMe to save the restaurant.
“We are a group of Denver people who love Casa Bonita and worry about its future,” the event wrote. “Casa Bonita is an important cultural and historical landmark and a vibrant part of Colorado.
“There are many scenarios that can be staged. With your help, we can be ready to act with money and influence, no matter which direction it goes. Let us save CASA BONITA!”
