A maid at the Maven Hotel in downtown Denver was hailed as a hero by local officials after spotting and reporting a weapon stash in a hotel room near Coors Stadium.
Just a few days before the Major League Baseball All-Star Game, the police seized more than a dozen guns, more than 1,000 rounds of ammunition and body armor from two hotel rooms, and arrested four men.
The police initially told Denver Station 7 that when they found the weapon stash, they were worried that a “Las Vegas-style shooting” would occur during the game on Tuesday.
Denver FBI The office and the SWAT team were called to the scene together. The authorities obtained a search warrant for the hotel room where they found the weapon.
Richard Platt, Gabriel Rodriguez, Ricardo Rodriguez and Kanoelehua Serikawa, all in their 40s, were arrested Friday night on charges related to drugs and firearms. According to the police, three of the four men are repeat offenders and cannot legally own guns.

“We have no reason to believe that this incident is related to terrorism or threats to the All-Star Game,” the Denver FBI department said in a statement. Weekly newspaper. “We are currently not aware of any threats to the events, venues, players or communities of the All-Star Game.”
Colorado State Police Chief Paul Pazen said the police are still investigating what the four men did with these weapons. He did not want to speculate or over-share any information that would jeopardize the integrity of the investigation at the press conference on Sunday, but he assured that the police were not aware of any positive threats to the upcoming game.
“We want to reassure people that all aspects of the security department…we have a detailed and comprehensive plan to ensure the safety of our community members,” Pazen said. “We are committed to ensuring the safety of the rest of the All-Star celebration and the rest of our city and communities.”
At the press conference, Denver Mayor Michael Hancock confirmed that the All-Star Game will not be postponed and the celebration will proceed as scheduled.
The maid was praised online and by Colorado officials.
The chief of police called the employee “smart” at a press conference on Sunday afternoon. He praised the hotel staff for “doing this in the right way.”
